It all started in the summer of 1982. Robert Matsudaira, (along with the help and encouragement of his brother Stephen) became inspired to hone his skills as a songwriter and start a band in order to perform his new material.
Soon, the band was performing at many local Baltimore/Washington venues including:
The Paragon
Armadillos
Grog And Tankard
Max's On Broadway
The Millersville Inn
The Irish Pub
The Whiskey
Jaxx
The NightCat
Scandals
Cult Classic Brewery
And receiving airplay on local radio stations including:
DC101
99.1 WHFS
And the recordings were being sold at local record stores including:
Waxie Maxies
Sam Goodys
Tower Records
Almost 40 years later, Robert Matsudaira continues to write, record and perform new material, along with his large catalog of recordings, displaying various reconfigurations of his trademark band, RT.FLAIR. His catalog includes the following albums:
You Can't Be Serious (1988)
Tongue In Cheek (1990)
RT.Flair Live (1991)

Bob's latest reconfiguration includes a name change. The band is now The Relics of Overhill Drive and starting in 2020, Bob and the band started rehearsals, writing new material and performing live (pre-covid). Beginning in 2021, the Relics released a live recording, "Relics Barely Live" and continue to write, record and perform live.
The band consists of:
